blatant self-promotion #243
for those who are heading to melbourne any time soon, i have a solo exhibition at bus gallery. listening and being is a simple installation and a series of performances about the act of listening and reflecting.
i will be doing a performance on opening night, plus on the 24th and 28th june. and it's the kind of installation that i encourage gallery-goers to interact with. it's a massive mirror that disects the space, and expect loads of ear-prints on it.
you'll see what i mean when you go there.

I don't see the Heidegger thing. And I just listened to the "Hedegger in 90 minutes" audiobook, so I should know :-)
it's not a direct reference to heidegger, but an extension of an idea that listening, and the relationship to sound, may be an enactment of Dasein - that point from which Being comes into being from Nothing.
Sound, comes from Silence into Sound, through listening.
Heidegger in 90 minutes?! wow. i've been trawling through his essays for almost a year now. i should have taken the shortcut :)
what time are the performances? I'm figuring I missed today, but would like to catch Tuesday -> 8 hours means all day??
