I think it's great that he actually said the word 'sorry' (3 times apparently) . When Australians decide to do something they don't prick about - I admire that. Over here you get all sorts of fuckery - aboutery.
the parliament said sorry 3 times, and then he said sorry 3 times. it's a fucking relief, i tell you.
the last government fucked about a whole lot, for a really long time. did all kinds of damage in denying and downplaying. it's a relief to have it out, discussed and talked about, as it should.
Maybe it is a bit devalued by the fact that it's just a grand statement from an incoming administration ? They kind of saw it as a good sexy vehicle to use to do so ?
to be honest tom, i don't even care if it's a vehicle. it's on the books, it's been recorded as parliamentary proceedings and action is being taken.
believe me, we're almost as cynical as you brits when it comes to politicians, but it feels real here.
